Sri Lanka clinch consolation win over India in the last & final ODI match at Colombo. Sri Lanka won the toss & selected to bat first. Sri Lankan opener having a flying start & also having a handy run rate. Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan top scoring with 97,to help Sri Lanka 320 for eight.

India win the series 4-1 & captured the five match ODI series

India loose Sehwag in the very second over & their batting scrambled begin. They lost Raina & Gambhir at 52, Kulasekara to leave India in great trouble on 52 for 3. Yuvraj played a fine knock of 76.

Australia Come back in the 2nd ODI

After Loosing the 1st ODI Australia captured the second ODI at Hobart against South Africa. Australia come back strongly & win by 5 runs. Australia batted first & scored 249 for 9. A 135 runs partnership between Skipper Ponting & Marsh. Both are made half-century.

Marsh played a wonderful innings of 78 while skipper Ponting scored 64. South African bowlers mainly Ntini taking 3 wickets, Steyn & Kallis took 2 wickets each.

The visitor’s started their innings very poorly & lost their opener very soon. Kallis & de Villiers build a 93 runs partnership. Kallis scored 72 from 96 after that South Africa started to struggle. And they lost their batsman very soon. Also the pressure was built on South Africa. Duminy was hitting some boundary but it was quite late. Australia win by 5 runs.

Ponting’s men leveled the series 1-1 & keep some hope for their fan.

 

Clinch victory for South Africa

After winning the test series South Africa win the opening one day against Australia by three wickets & taking 1-0 lead of the 5 match series.

Australia batted first & reaching 271/8 in the 50 over. Australian opener Shaun marsh hits highest scored for his team of 79,while D.Hussey’s smashing 52 runs help Australia to reach a comparative total. Albie Morkel, Johan Botha & Morne Morkel taking 2 wickets each.

South Africa lost their opener very soon & at one stage they were 90 for 3. JP Duminy(71) & McKenzie(63) added 123 runs for fourth wicket. after that Australia has come back strongly & took last four wickets for eight runs then south Africa 221/7. But Albie Morkel played a handful innings of 40* only from 18 balls & South Africa reach the target with three balls to spare.

It’s a real good news for the manchester united fan. Man United moves to second spot in the English premier league. at 14 January,2009 Wednesday they defeated Wigan Athletic by 1-0 & moves on to the 2nd position of the league table. they are now only 2 points behind of Liverpool. Liverpool with 46 points from 21 matches while manchester United with 44 from 20 matches. Rooney scored the winning goal for manchester united. Chelsea joined the third spot with 42 points of the league table.

Dhoni slips down to 2nd spot in the ICC rankings

Indian skipper MS dhoni lost his top spot position & slips down at the 2nd spot of the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI rankings. West Indies batsman Chris Gayle regains his top position.

Dhoni slips down to 2nd spot of the list with 779 points & an average of 46.84 while the top spot holder Gayle accumulated 783 points with an average of 40.63, thanks to a series of delightful performance against New Zealand.

Indian left handed talent Yuvraj Singh slipped down one spot & moves into sixth spot while South African skipper Smith is on fifth spot. India’s Master blaster Sachin retained his 12th spot with 708 points.

Among the bowlers the top spot holder Australia’s Nathan Bracken while India’s Zaheer Khan only Indian bowler who retained his 11th spot with 660 points.

Goutam Gambhir’s career turned from Lanka Tour

Lanka tour turning point of my career - Indian in form test opener Goutam Gambhir said. Last year Lanka tour is the turning point of his career & helped him to settled his place as a test opener in the Indian cricket test team.

Ponting set a target or 376 runs against SA

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting made a bold declaration on Tuesday afternoon into the third & final test match at Sydney against South Africa. Ponting set a target of 376 runs. Australian team declared their second innings at 257/4.

At the end of the forth day of the final test South Africa made 62 runs loss of one wicket. opener Morne Morkel out for a duck, acting skipper Neil McKenzie(25) & in-form batsman Amla(30) are not out. Lets see what will be happen in the final day.

Sauth African skipper ruled out due to hand injury

It was a sad day for the South African Cricket fan. South African skipper Graeme Smith ruled out due to his finger injury at the third day of the ongoing test series against Australia.

South African vice-captain Mark Boucher is expected to lead the team as a captain for the remaining three days of the final test match. But no decision has not yet to made.

Smith batted well at the second day of the final test match while he was in 30, Mitchell Johnson raising delivery hit of his left hand’s little finger. After that Smith retired hurt.

BCCI request Sri Lanka for ODI series

India has a huge posibility to play a brief one-day series against sri Lanka. Recently India canceled their tour of Pakistan because of the terror attack in Mumbai. So the BCCI approaches to the Sri Lanka cricket board to play a one day series in the mid of February.

The BCCI has just lost of RS 120 crore because of cancellation of the last two match against England & also in Pakistan tour.

Micheal Clarke back in form to get Aus in a positive start

Australian out of form batsman Clarke hits 73 not out in the last test match against South Africa at Sydney. Australia won the toss & decided to bat first. the top order Australian batsman failed again. hayden & Katich are good start but didn’t last. Hayden out at 31 while Katich was 3 short of his test 50s. Clarke scored 73 of 150 balls with 9th boundary & not out. At the end of the first test Australia scored 267 for lost of 6 wickets.

South African bowler Steyn took off 2 wickets while the others are gifted by one wickets each.
